COMPLAINT AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT (CASH)

There is a confusion and ignorance about women rights, question of sexuality, interaction among peers, norms of masculinity and femininity. In educational institutions and work places in almost all sectors women are harassed and tortured. In order to prevent such situations and to provide justice and create an environment conducive to work and study without fear or harassment, a committee is functioning since 2014 in our institution. The committee was formed as per the direction of U.G.C. To understand the occurring situations against women, the College Complaint Committee on Sexual Harassment against Women at Workplace has been constituted according to Vishaka Guidelines. Presently Prof. Tanima Saha, is acting as the Coordinator of the said Committee.

Aims and Objectives

· The Committee will deal with the cases / complaints of sexual harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the College.

· The Committee shall process all the individual complaints and take suitable action thereon in the manner and mode as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2013. The act allows for Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal to such problems.

· The Committee shall be accountable to the Head of the Institution.

Activities

Since the formation of this Committee, it has not received any serious complaints related to women harassment. Minor verbal complaints if any received from the students are being resolved amicably. The College maintains a cordial and healthy atmosphere in this respect.
